Since 2004, thousands of guests have come from all over the world to tour the venerable Sisters of St. Joseph of Caondelet Motherhouse in South St. Louis and explore its rich history, beautiful architecture and artisan detail.

The historic building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, but it is not a museum. It is currently home to the St. Louis province administration offices and some of our sisters who reside here. The building is also host to a variety of events including meetings, retreats and other special events.

When you walk through the halls of the motherhouse, you will see some of the original parlor wooden flooring, beautiful stained glass windows, graceful staircases, historic china and so much more.

Sister Kate Filla, tour guide says, "There's so much history here. ... Without this building, our place in history would not be so obvious." Read her Treasures Inside blog for an insider look!
