60th Jubilarian
Sister Linda Marie Straub was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1964 and was received into the novitiate in 1965. She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Fontbonne College (now University) St. Louis, in 1969 and a master’s degree in theology from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN 1980. Sr. Linda also received Certification in Spiritual Direction from Burlingame, CA 1997.
Sister Linda began teaching in Chicago, Illinois at St. Bede the Venerable Grade School (1968-69) and Nativity of Our Lord Grade School (1971-72). For the next four years she taught in Kansas City, Missouri at Northeast Consolidated School. She taught one year at Academy of Our Lady/Spalding in Peoria, Illinois.
In 1977, she began ten years at St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Louis.
The following year, she was a resident at Derham Community in St. Paul, Minnesota and then served as a pastoral assistant in St. Joseph Parish in Zwoelle, Louisiana (1989-90).
Returning to St. Louis, Sister Linda served as the director of religious formation at St. Stephen Protomartyr (1990-92). Sister served her CSJ community in 1992 as the vocation education director and in 1997 as a member of the vocation/formation ministry team until 1999. Beginning in 2000, Sister Linda served as campus minister at the Catholic Student Center at Washington University for 14 years.
From 2014 to 2019, Sister Linda served her CSJ community as a member of the province leadership team.
She served as a full time spiritual director from 2019 until 2023 when she was called again to serve her CSJ community.
In July of 2023, she commenced her duties as a member of the St. Louis Province Leadership Team.
