Associate Patrick Jendraszak, CSJA

Patrick Jendraszak has been married to Loretta Jendraszak, also a CSJ Associate, for 42 years. They have two children: Stephen (40), who is married to Lindsey and has two sons, Henry (9) and Charlie (7); and Andrew (39), a CSJ Associate and theology faculty member at St. Joseph's Academy, who is married to Elizabeth and has a son, Wilmot (1).

Patrick's involvement with the Sisters of St. Joseph began in St. Louis while he was an Augustinian Novice at Immaculate Conception/St. Henry's Parish (1976-77), working with Sister Jean Abbott at the Southside Forum of Neighborhood Associations. Later, while pursuing graduate studies at Chicago's Catholic Theological Union, he spent three years ministering alongside Sister Regina Sexauer at the St. Joseph's Carondelet Childcare Center. In 1980, Patrick left the Augustinian Order and married Loretta in 1981.

From 1982 to 1988, Patrick served as the first Parish (Business) Manager in the Archdiocese of Chicago during the pastorate of the late Bishop Raymond E. Goedert. In 1995, he became the Parish Manager of St. Luke Catholic Church in Indianapolis, a position he held until his retirement in 2022. His ministry included managing the parish's financial, physical and personnel resources, as well as overseeing Christian Social Action ministries.

In 1994, Patrick joined the Matrix Community, a geographically diverse group of vowed members, associates and others. He was drawn to everyone’s commitment to being companions on a faith journey expressed through service to God's people, deepening of spiritual life, and mutual support. Reflecting on his experience, Patrick shares, "My life has truly been blessed by my continued involvement as a member of Matrix."

Currently, Patrick serves on the St. Louis Province Mission Agenda Committee. He has also served on the Province Justice Committee (2004-2010), the Associate Leadership Board (2014-2016), the Associate Finance Committee (2015-2016) and the Assembly Planning Committee (2023).
