25th Jubilee

Associate Josephine Lepore, CSJA

Josephine Lepore, originally from Houston, Texas, has been an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph for 25 years. She started her spiritual journey in Houston but has lived in Kansas for many years, currently residing in Olathe. Josephine's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are the most important people in her life.

Josephine's journey as an associate began when Georgia Walker suggested she join the group. Without hesitation, Josephine decided she wanted to be part of the community. Her late husband, Don LePore, also joined the associates the year after Josephine, and the years they spent together serving were special. Josephine often referred to him jokingly as "Mister Sister."

Throughout her time as an associate, Josephine has found comfort in being part of something bigger and the ability to keep in touch with people. In the beginning, she enjoyed being active and meeting people from all over. The highlight of her work has been visiting people in hospitals and their homes during times when they needed someone.

Reflecting on her 25 years as an associate, Josephine shares, "Being an associate for the past 25 years has been a comfort. I enjoyed being active in the beginning and meeting people from all over and lately it's been a comfort to know I'm still part of something bigger and can keep in touch with people."

Josephine is grateful for the time she and her husband spent together serving the community and for the years she has been a part of the Sisters of St. Joseph as an associate.
