50th Jubilee
Sister Patricia Donnelly was born on September 28, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1971 and was received into the novitiate in 1972. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Harris Teachers College in St. Louis in 1971.
Sister Patricia taught at Our Lady of Lourdes in Raytown, Missouri, from 1971 to 1972. The following year she studied at St. Joseph Novitiate in St. Louis. She moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1973 and taught at St. Viator Grade School until 1976. Sister Patricia returned to St. Louis, teaching at Nativity of Our Lord Grade School Louis until 1978. She then served at St. Joseph Carondelet Child Care in Chicago until 1982. From 1983 to 1985, Sister Patricia continued to serve at St. Joseph Carondelet Child Care as a child care worker/houseparent.
Sister Patricia studied computer science at DePaul University in Chicago from 1985 to 1986. She then worked at CES Computer Tech in Chicago as a computer trainer, before moving to San Gabriel, California, in 1987, working as assistant manager and then as area manager until 1992.
She transitioned back to education and served as the computer coordinator at St. Joseph’s Academy in St. Louis until 2002. While at St. Joseph’s Academy, she continued her study of computer technology and served as a computer coordinator. Sister Patricia then served as the Office and Gift Shop manager at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis from 2002 to 2021.
Sister Patricia retired in 2021 and continues to volunteer at her parish, St. Gerard Majella, where she taught PSR for 11 years and was involved in the outreach program. She is currently a member of the parish council. She also serves in family care.
