60th Jubilee
Sister Roseanne Siebert was born in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1959 with her sister, Sister Ann, and was received into the novitiate in 1960 as Sister Joseph Marian. She earned a bachelor’s degree in deaf education from Fontbonne College in 1964 and a master’s degree in speech pathology and audiology from the University of Iowa in 1971.
Sister Roseanne, along with her sister Ann, dedicated her life’s ministry to service at St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf (SJI). In her 45 years at SJI, Sister Roseanne served in many capacities. From 1964 to 1985, she was a primary teacher and supervisor. From 1987 to 1998, she taught and supervised the teaching of children with cochlear implants.
In 1999, she became the associate principal, followed by one year as the interim principal. From 2006 until her retirement in 2013, she was the academic program coordinator.
Today, Sister Roseanne serves her CSJ community as an archival aide in St. Louis. She also serves on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, in addition to various volunteer activities.
