60th Jubilee
Sister Maria del Rosario Bobadilla was born in San Pedro, Jalisco, Mexico, and received the habit as a Carmelite in 1960. She professed her final vows as a Sister of St. Joseph in 2000. She earned a bachelor'ss degree in education from Instituto Federal de Capacitacion del Magisterio 1970, Lagos de Moreno, Mexico: a master’s degree in education from Normal Superior, Guadalajara, Mexico in 1977; a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from ITESO in Mexico; and a master’s degree in counseling from St. Mary’s University—San Antonio, Texas, and a certificate in pastoral care from Aquinas Institute of Theology. She is licensed as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and a professional counselor (LPC).
Sister Rosario began serving as a counselor at Catholic Charites of Denver in 1996. In 2002, she moved to St. Louis where she was a student at Aquinas Institute of Theology.
Beginning in 2004, Sister Rosario served as a clinical therapist at Catholic Family Services until 2006, and as a vocation/formation ministry team member for her CSJ community until 2008. During this time, in 2006, she also served at Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers as the coordinator of Holistic Health Care until 2010. She then worked in spiritual care as a part of the Health and Wellness team for her CSJ community for two years.
At present, she is a chaplain for Mercy Rehabilitation and BIAS-Casa de Salud/IFCLA-board member and accompanies new immigrants.
