60th Jubilee
Sister Patricia Ann Hauser was born in Schell City, Missouri. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1959 and was received into the novitiate in 1960 as Sister Cecilia Frances. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Teresa in Kansas City, Mo., and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1984.
Sister Patricia began her 60 years of ministry as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She worked as a member of the nursing staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City until 1966. For the next six years, she worked at St. Joseph Community Hospital in Hancock, Michigan, first as head nurse, opening on CICU for patients needing intensive care.
In 1972, she moved south to Augusta, Georgia, and was a staff nurse at St. Joseph Hospital Center. She then returned to Kansas City and served as a staff nurse at St. Joseph Center.
Sister Patricia continued her nursing studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia for two years, earning her master’s degree. She then served as a nursing educator at Avila University from 1984 to 1990.
In 1991, she moved to Camden, Alabama, where she would serve a 19-yearlong ministry as a family nurse practitioner at the Vredenburgh Health Center until 2013.
Sister Patricia retired to St. Louis in 2013 and volunteered throughout the community. Since 2016, she has resided at Nazareth Living Center carrying out her mission of prayer and presence.
