60th Jubilee
Sister Judy Ann Miller was born in Chicago, Illinois. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1959 and was received into the novitiate in 1960 as Sister Gerald Joseph. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin from Fontbonne College in 1964 and master’s degree in theology from St. John University in 1973.
Sister Judy began her ministry work as a teacher at Academy of Our Lady in Peoria, Illinois (1964-1968) and at St. Joseph’s Academy in Green Bay, Wisconsin (1968-1976). She then served her CSJ community as the director of novices for the St. Louis province for the next four years.
For the next 27 years, Sister Judy worked in several parishes in Wisconsin. She was the pastoral associate at Nativity Parish in Green Bay (1980-87), and parish director at St. Lawrence Parish (1987-96) in Navarino and at St. Mary’s Parish in Oshkosh (1996-2007).
After studying for a year at the Institute for Spiritual Leadership in Chicago, she served as the spiritual director/pastoral associate at Clintonville and Bear Creek and St. Mary parishes in Bear Creek, Wisconsin.
In 2009, Sister Judy began serving at Norbertine Center for Spirituality in DePere, Wisconsin. As a staff member from 2009 to 2017, she provided spiritual direction, directed retreats and gave presentations. Since 2017, she has continued serving as a spiritual director at the center.
