Sister Joan Galli, a lifelong resident of St. Louis, graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy prior to entering the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1959. She was received into the novitiate in 1960 as Sister Rose Charles. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Fontbonne College in 1964 and a master’s degree in elementary education administration from Creighton University in 1976.

She then served as an elementary school principal for the next 41 years at the following schools: St. Rita Grade School (1969-1977), St. Thomas the Apostle Grade School (1977-86), and St. Sabina School (1986-2010).
When St. Sabina School closed, Sister Joan transitioned into the role of pastoral minister at St. Sabina Parish in Florissant for the next two years. She then became a part-time parochial consultant at St. Ferdinand Grade School for nearly a year.
In 2013, she joined St. Rose Phillipine Duchesne Grade School and served as a Catholic Identity coordinator for a year before working as their administrative assistant until 2018.
Sister Joan Galli continues to serve as a part-time pastoral associate at St. Sabina Parish.
