25th Jubilee
This gift of Association was given to me by my mother, Lakme' Coakley, an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita, Sister Marion Weinzapfal and the CSJ's of Denver. As Pope Francis calls us to be “Bearers of Gratitude”, I am grateful to be in community with those who live what Pedro Arrupe calls “the most practical thing - finding God and falling in love".
We go where there is a need, from standing in witness against the execution of a Colorado prisoner in 1997 with Denver CSJs, to the sharing of the heart and the house across the federation during Lent and Advent, to a zoom course called How To Have Difficult Conversations, to the forever commitment to eliminate racism, to vicariously experiencing mission in Gulu, Uganda, to deep relationships with vowed members and other associates and so much more. Association keeps me engaged in the more-the profligate love of God and the Dear Neighbor.
