Sue Allender is celebrating 40 years as a member of the St. Louis province’s housekeeping staff! Sue has remained a constant at the motherhouse across nine different leadership teams.

The loving atmosphere created by the sisters and staff at the motherhouse has made Sue feel at home. “Their kindness sets them apart,” said Sue. “The sisters and staff are so kind, so nice. Everyone works together.”

She remembers gathering in the dinning hall around Christmas time when she first started working at the motherhouse. “When I first started, they used to have Santa Claus make an appearance in the dining room during Christmas,” said Sue. “All the workers would bring their family and children to see Santa. The sisters would wrap up gifts for every person who would visit. It was really nice meeting your coworkers families. It’s one of the best memories I have from here.”

Sue has been an associate since 1992, and is a member of the Medaille II community. Being an associate allowed her to learn more about the sisters and their service to the dear neighbor. "The sisters opened up to me when I became an associate," said Sue. "They felt like I was one of them."

Thank you for everything you do Sue! We appreciate your hard work and dedication to the sisters over the years!
