Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Mary Adelaide Moeller, who passed away on June 22, 2020, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was 90 years of age.

Sister Mary was born on June 22, 1930, in St. Louis to parents Victor John and Mary Agnes (Fuchs) Moeller. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1948, and was received into the novitiate as Sister Regina Agnes in 1949. She received a bachelor’s degree in history from Fontbonne College in 1959 and a master’s degree in history/modern Europe from St. Louis University in 1963.

Sister Mary Adelaide dedicated 71 years of ministry in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. She served in elementary education her first 20 years, teaching at St. Mary Magdalene, Notre Dame and St. Jude in the 1950s, and at All Saints, St. Edward, St. Matthew and Saints Mary and Joseph in the 1960s. She then taught and was an administrator at St. Louis Cathedral School in the early 1970s.

For 33 years, from 1972 to 2005, Sister Mary Adelaide served as a pastoral minister at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish. While there, from 1980 to 1990, she was also the religious education coordinator.

Afterwards, she went on to be the receptionist at St. John the Baptist Parish for six years.

Sister Mary Adelaide retired in 2013. She resided at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, where she carried out her ministry of prayer and presence.
