Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Janet Mary Feager, who passed away on December 30 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She was 83 years of age.

Sister Janet Mary, baptized Arlene Mary, was born on February 13, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Orlando William and Irene Marie (Moorhem) Feager. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1958 and was received into the novitiate in 1959. She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Fontbonne College in 1963.

Sister Janet served in elementary education for 47 years. She began teaching in the Archdiocese of St. Louis at Immacolata, St. Cecilia, and Saints John and James schools in the 1960s. For the following 10 years, she taught in Denver, Colorado, at St. James (1969-1975) and St. Catherine of Siena (1975-1979) schools.

Returning to St. Louis, she taught at St. Luke the Evangelist (1979-1988) and Holy Innocents (1998-1990) schools. Her final years of teaching were in Denver at St. Francis De Sales Grade School, retiring in 2010.

Since 2012, Sister Janet Mary lived at Nazareth Living Center, carrying out her ministry of prayer and presence.

The funeral Mass will be held on January 2 at 10 a.m. at Nazareth Living Center, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
