Sisters of St. Joseph accept the Heart and Cross Award from Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.

On Nov. 16, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Louis Province was awarded the Heart and Cross Award at Cardinal Ritter Senior Services's (CRSS) 15th Annual Return to Motown dinner and auction. The event was held at the Clayton Plaza Hotel in St. Louis.

"This is very humbling to be recognized in this way," says S. Maureen Freeman, province leadership. "This will be treasured and a constant reminder to all of us to never forget the needs of the senior adults in our community."

Each year, the CRSS Board of Directors annually honors and selects a partner in the ministry of caring for senior adults— a business, social service agency, funding organization or individual—to receive the Heart and Cross Award.

The following dedication to the CSJs was included in the program booklet:

The St. Louis community is blessed to have the sisters here and their work in education, healthcare and with the poor has touched thousands of lives. Cardinal Ritter Senior Services has been positively impacted by many of the services provided by the sisters including the leadership of S. Suzanne Wesley as CEO for 20 years!

The CSJs also value and advocate for the senior adults in our community and continue to financially support CRSS and our programs for low-income senior adults.

We are grateful and proud to partner with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet St. Louis Province.
