Other Ways to Join

We invite you to join our mission, deepen your faith and seek justice for others.

We offer many ways you can strengthen your relationship with the sisters, even if you’re not ready or interested in committing to becoming an associate or a sister yourself. By joining one of our other programs, you’ll be making a difference in your community and connecting with our sisters and our mission.

Become a Prayer Partner

Do you want to support us through prayer? Prayer partners are men and women who share in our mission through the ministry of prayer. Whether one of our sisters has taught your children, or ministered in your parish, or you are looking to create a relationship with our sisters for the first time—we welcome you.

As a prayer partner, you’ll receive a prayer card, a certificate of membership and quarterly letters that include suggested prayer intentions as well as keep you up to date on what’s happening in the CSJ community. You’ll pray for the unity of all persons with God and with one another, as well as specific prayer requests for God’s blessing and guidance on the CSJ mission and ministries.

Become a CORE volunteer

CORE stands for Charism, Outreach, Relationship and Experience—all things you will encounter as a volunteer. This 2-4 month opportunity provides women ages 20-35 with space to reflect and meet other women going through diverse experiences such as studying for degrees or discerning life’s next steps.

This program is founded on community, spirituality and justice. As a CORE volunteer you will live in an intentional community, work with a spiritual director and commit to serving the dear neighbor, with emphasis on those who are marginalized.

“There are so many young women who are hungry for spirituality and a sense of belonging. The values of spirituality, social justice and simple living have long fulfilled us as Sisters of St. Joseph and we want to share those with today’s generation.” - Sister Kathleen Eiler, program director

Live in a Discernment House

Are you looking to live with intention and build relationships? Discernment houses give women the opportunity to be around sisters and find the support they need to continue discerning God’s call through faith sharing, intentional community and service opportunities.

This program is ever changing. Community members continue to shape this experience together, deciding how best to integrate prayer, meals, play, ministry, and discernment experiences to serve the needs of everyone in the group.

Most discerners are in their 20s or 30s, but we we welcome everyone interested, and including our sisters, the women living together span an age range as broad as 19-86! This program is typically a year-long commitment but the time range can be flexible depending on your needs.

“This experience has allowed me the time and support needed to transition from one phase of my life to the next. For others seeking discernment, follow your heart and don’t be afraid to take risks. Taking time to figure out your passions in life is the healthiest and smartest thing anyone could do.” - Former Fiat House resident
