Sister Loretta Costa, CSJ

 

Biographical:

Sister Loretta Costa, baptized Mary Elizabeth, was born in Athens, Georgia.  She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1939 and was received into the novitiate in 1940. She received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul in 1961 and a master’s degree in sociology from St. Louis University in 1970.

 

Service in the Archdiocese of St. Louis:

Sister Loretta was a teacher and administrator at St. Luke’s School in the 1970s.  In the 1970s and 1980s she served her CSJ community as provincial councilor and as regional superior for the St. Joseph Provincialate.

 

Service outside the Archdiocese: 

Sister has served in Georgia and Illinois. 

 

About Sister Loretta Costa, CSJ:

Since 2006 Sister Loretta has resided in Decatur, Georgia where she continues to carry out her ministry of prayer and witness.
