Sister Joyce was born in Milwaukee, Wis.. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1951 and was received into the novitiate in 1952 as Sister Norbert Mary. She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Fontbonne College in 1962 and a master’s degree in elementary education from St. Louis University in 1968.
Sister Joyce was a teacher for 20 years at schools in Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Georgia including St. Gregory School in the Archdiocese of St. Louis (1954-1961).
In the late 1970s, she served her CSJ community as secretary at the St. Joseph Provincial House. In the early 1908s she served as pastoral assistant at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish in St. Louis.
Sister Joyce spent four years in Texas, and then moved to Wisconsin where she served as a pastoral assistant, aide, and adult education teacher. She retired in 2007 and is currently serving in prayer and witness at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis.
Sister has served in Colorado, Oklahoma, Georgia, Wisconsin, Texas and in Kansas City/St.Joseph Diocese.
