S. John Mandeville
Sister John Mandeville, CSJ
Biographical:
Sister John Mandeville, baptized Gertrude, was born in Jacksonville, Illinois. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1949 and was received into the novitiate in 1950 as Sister John Benedict. She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Fontbonne College in 1963, and a master’s degree in elementary education administration from St. Louis University in 1970.
Service in the Archdiocese of St. Louis:
In the 1950s and 1960s Sister John taught at: Holy Guardian Angels, Nativity School, and St. Agnes School. Sister served as administrator at Valle Grade School, 1970-1980 and St. Margaret of Scotland, 1980-1992.
Service outside the Archdiocese:
Sister has served in Alabama.
About Sister John Mandevile, CSJ:
Since 1993 Sister has served as a pastoral minister at St. Paul’s Parish in St. Paul.
