S. Dorothy Daly
Sister Dorothy Daly, CSJ
Biographical:
Sister Dorothy Daly, baptized Florence Dorothy, was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1928. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1950 and was received into the novitiate in 1950 as Sister Mary Malachy. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology/French from Fontbonne College in 1949 and received a master’s degree in theology from the University of Notre Dame in 1971.
Service in the Archdiocese of St. Louis:
Sister Dorothy taught at St. Teresa of Avila, 1955-1961. From 1992 to 2002 she served in a variety of office positions including Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Salvation Army, St. Joseph Home for Boys and St. Louis Academy for special education students.
Service outside the Archdiocese:
Sister has served in teaching and religious education in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas and Illinois.
About Sister Dorothy Daly, CSJ:
After retiring from St. Louis Academy in 2002, Sister served in volunteer ministry until 2005 when she retired from active ministry. Sister continues to pray for community intentions.
