Sister Catherine Agnes Wagner, CSJ

 

Biographical:

Sister Catherine Agnes Wagner, baptized Jeanette Colleen, was born in Atchison, Kansas.  She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1949 and was received into the novitiate in 1950.  She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of St. Teresa in 1955 and a master’s degree in nursing education from Marquette University in 1969.

 

Service in the Archdiocese:

Sister Catherine's career in nursing spans 30 years.  In the 1970s and 1980s Sister served at St. Joseph Hospital, Incarnate Word Hospital, Mount St. Rose Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association.  She also provided home health care service for her CSJ community.  In the 1980s and 1990s Sister Catherine was a cosmetologist at Nazareth Living Center and at CSJ Cosmetology Service.  In addition, in 1952 she taught at St. Mary Magdalen School and St. Edward School.

 

Service outside the Archdiocese: 

Sister has served in the nursing field in Missouri, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Since 2004 Sister Catherine has resided at Nazareth Living Center in South County where she continues to carry out her ministry of prayer and witness.
