50th Jubilee

Sister Suzanne Giro was born in Kansas City, Mo. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1963 and was received into the novitiate in 1964 as Sister Peter Damian.  She received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Fontbonne College in 1970.

In the late 1960s, Sister Suzanne taught at St.Louis Grade School in Waco, Texas and then at Our Lady of the Americas Grade School in Kansas City, Mo.

Beginning in 1970, she began 20 years of service in Georgia.  She taught at St. Francis Xavier School in Brunswick.  She then served as a pastoral associate at St. Anthony Parish in Atlanta and then at St. Teresa's Parish in Albany, Ga.

Sister Suzanne served in the Kansas City/St. Joseph Diocese for 11 years at Carondelet Manor as the director of pastoral care before coming to St. Louis.

In 2002, she began her service as the assistant mission coordinator for the CSJ Congregation.  Since 2010 she has served at Nazareth Living Center as the admissions coordinator.
