Society of Benefactors Mass and Reception

Friendships were celebrated and renewed as over 150 guests gathered on March 6 at the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet's Society of Benefactors Mass and Reception. The event was in observance of the sisters 145 years of service to their dear Kansas City neighbor, as well as to honor their gracious benefactors. Visitation Parish provided a glorious setting for this day. A Mass was concelebrated by Father Patrick Rush, pastor, and Father Thomas Curran, president of Rockhurst University.

After the Mass, guests gathered in Tighe Hall for the reception and the opportunity to socialize and reminisce. Mario and Kathy Scaglia, longtime CSJ benefactors and owners of Twenty 20 restaurant, graciously catered the reception. Entertainment was provided by the St. Teresa's Academy singers and pianists Lillian and Mimi Wayne. Photos of the sisters and highlights of their ministries throughout years in Kansas City were displayed for all to enjoy. Sponsored institutions Avila University, St. Teresa's Academy, St. Joseph Medical Center, St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf and the CSJ Associate program provided exhibits so that guests could learn more about their programs.
