Focus on Issues

As Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Associates, we respond collectively and individually to God's call to justice by:

  • committing ourselves to peaceful non-violence.
  • seeking right relationships within community, with the dear neighbor and with all creation.
  • informing ourselves and others on the issues.
  • praying and acting on unjust systems at the local, national and global levels.

Some of the issues the St. Louis Province collectively focuses on are:

  • Abolition of the death penalty
  • Immigration issues
  • Equality among genders and races
  • Responsible investing/corporate responsibility
  • Eco-justice
  • Doe Run Refinery heavy metal contamination in La Oroyo, Peru

For more information on these and other issues of social justice contact Justice Coordinator Associate Diana Oleskevich, 314-678-0317.
