Congratulations on your 175th anniversary. Many of you have so enriched my life--both personally and professionally. I thank you, pray for you and wish you well.
Michele Schaefer
former employee of Carondelet Health, Kansas City
and former board member of St. Teresa's Academy.
...For all these years, you have done what you can to serve the marginalized in our community. I know that, when Bishop Rosati invited you to come to the Archdiocese, he had in mind the deaf, Native Americans, orhpans and young women in need. Today, from the Carondelet area you continue to touch the lives of all God's people.
In my own experience, I had the great opportunity to be taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph, and you continue to form young minds after the way of Christ...Thank you for your service here in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and in the many places across our great nation where the Sisters are present.
Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson
Archbishop of St. Louis
It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I write to congratulate your Congregation as you celebrate 175 years. From that first invitation from Bishop Rosati to come to St. Louis and work with the deaf, the works of the Sisters of St. Joseph have multiplied...From education and health care, to social work with indigenous populations, the sisters continue to give today without distinction. What a hope-filled future! Read more.

Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis
For nearly 150 years the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet have served the faithful of Northwestern Missouri with deep faith and joyous dedication: first in the Diocese of their namesake, St. Joseph; in Kansas City Diocese; and in the current Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
Through the apostolates of Catholic education and health care they have touched the lives of thousands and thousands of God's people. They have administered and taught in schools of every grade level, from early childhood to university. Our Catholic hospitals continue to be guided by their sponsorship. Today they live and even more diversified service in new apostolates. Their lasting grace-filled effect cannot be measured. It is known fully to God alone.
On behalf of the Faithful of the diocese, it is an honor and a joy for me to congratulate and thank the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet on this milestone of 175 years in the United States. May God bless you with faithful vocations, and deep peace. Ad Multos Annos!
Most Reverend Robert W. Finn
Bishop of Kansas City-St. Joseph

This is an awesome landmark. You and your sisters are to be commended and congratulated on this auspicious occassion. Having just concluded the St. Patrick's Day Parade weekend I am very mindful of the significance of my Irish ancestory, which I can trace back a very long way. I thank God for that ancestory because it was the source of the gift of my Catholic faith. I am certain you feel the same about your own ancestors and, in particular, about the great heritage of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Avila University is a proud institution founded and now sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission documents proclaim clearly the value of our relationship with the Sisters who have given selflessly to this apostolate for 95 years.
Our students, faculty, staff and all members of our community continue to be inspired and enriched by their courageous and loving example. Today we continue to accept the challenge to live out your charism, to know it more cleary, to live it more fully, and through it to serve a world in need of such love and care. We give evidence of our ongoing commitment with the formation of over 30 CSJ associates who have publicly professed their wish to carry on the call to serve the dear neighbor without distinction and to live a life grounded in right relationships.
Today, March 25, 2011 we stand in celebration with our dear sisters and we rededicate ourselves to their mission through the ministry of education to all who are in need and without distinction. Thank you all, saints gone before us and those still serving, for your beautiful example of God’s love in our world.
