Jewels from Jane - April 19

Matanzas, Cuba
April 19, 1899

Dearest Mother [Agatha Guthrie],

Your kind letter ordering us home just received. We thank you very much for the same and hope to be with you very soon. The date of our departure from Cuba is not known, as there is so much red tape to wind up. Still we will get at the end before long, I hope. We think we will have to go to New York as the Southern ports are quarantined. I will let you know as soon as I learn the date. We have very little sickness in camp, thank God. All regret us going home, so they say. Hoping all of the dear Sisters are well. With love to each of the dear Sisters from the Cuban sisters, I am,

Yours affectionately,

Sr. Liguori [McNamara]
