Sister Therese Beaudin, CSJ 1933-2017

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Therese Beaudin, CSJ who passed away on Nov. 27 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, Missouri. She was 84 years of age.

Sister Therese Beaudin was born on April 5, 1937, in Hancock, Michigan, to parents Raymond Joseph and Diana Maria (Toutant) Beaudin. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on September 15, 1951, was received as Sister Raymond Therese and made her final profession on August 15, 1959. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fontbonne College in 1966.

Sister Therese served nearly 60 years in elementary education. She began teaching at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis in 1954. Three years later, she moved to Marquette, Michigan, and taught at Bishop Baraga Central Grade School until 1961. The following three years, she taught in Littleton, Colorado, at St. Mary Grade School. And from 1965 to 1967, she taught in West De Pere, Wisconsin, at St. Joseph Grade School. The following two years, she taught in St. Louis at St. Philip Neri Grade School (1967) and then at St. Vincent de Paul Grade School (1968). Sister Therese taught one year at American Martyrs Grade School in Kingsford, Michigan.

Since 1970, Sister Therese served in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.  She taught at Nativity of Our Lord Grade School (1970-72) and St. Louis Cathedral Grade School (1972-75).  From 1975 to 1983, she taught music at multiple schools in St. Louis. She taught full time from 1983 to 1987 at St. Thomas the Apostle Grade School in Florissant. From 1987 to 1989, she taught part time at St. Thomas the Apostle Grade School and was part-time music teacher at St. Roch Grade School from 1987 to 1991. From 1989 to 1990 she was part time music teacher at St. Thomas More Grade School and from 1990 to 2002 a part-time music teacher at St. Kevin Grade School.

From 1991 to 1997, Sister Therese taught piano at North American Martyrs Grade School. She taught music at St. Luke the Evangelist Grade School (1992-1999); St. Jerome Grade School (1997-2002); and All Souls Grade School (1999-2002).

In 2002, she returned to teaching piano at Good Shepherd Grade School (2002-2005), St. Norbert Grade School (2002-2013) and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Grade School (2005-2013).

Since 2013, Sister Therese carried out her ministry of prayer and presence at Nazareth Living Center.
