Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Regina Hughes, CSJ (S. Mary Francella) who departed this life on Wednesday, May 19 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis.

S. Regina was born in St. Louis. She was received into the notiviate in 1934.

S. Regina received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Fontbonne College in St. Louis in 1948. She began her ministry as a grade school teacher at St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis from 1936-1947. From there, she continued to teach in various places throughout Missouri as well as Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois and Colorado.

In 1976, S. Regina returned to St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf and served as a houseparent. She changed ministries in 1980 and was an assistant to the director of volunteers and worked in the development office. She remained at the institute until her retirement in 1997.

S. Regina then continued her retirement at Nazareth Living Center in 2001.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 25 at the Nazareth Living Center Chapel, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129. The viewing of the body will be at 9 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. with burial immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
