We ask the charity of your prayers for the repose of the soul of Sister Mariann DeBuck (Sister Anna Henry) who departed this life on Thursday, March 4 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. She was 77 and died of cancer.

Sister Mariann was born in St. Louis in 1932, entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1951 and was received into the novitiate in 1952.

She received a bachelor's degree in business education from Fontbonne College in 1961 and a master's in business education from the Catholic University of America in 1967.

Sister Mariann served in various schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis in the 1950s and 1960s including St. Margaret of Scotland, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Rosati-Kain, and Fontbonne College. She taught at St. Anthony High School in the early 1970s.

After serving as superior of Nazareth Convent in St. Louis from 1973-1979, she held a variety of administrative positions including at Mary Queen and Mother Center, Nazareth Living Center and CSJ Care.

Sister Mariann retired in 2006 and moved to Nazareth Living Center in 2009 where she carried out her ministry of prayer and witness.

The funeral was held March 9 with Mass at Nazareth Living Center Chapel followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
