Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Margaret Cozzens, CSJ (S. Catherine Tekakwitha) who departed this life on Saturday, May 15 at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. She was 92 and died of congestive heart failure.

Sister Margaret was born in St. Louis. She was received into the novitiate in 1935.

In 1957, S. Margaret received her bachelor's degree in education from College of St. Teresa in Kansas City, Missouri. She served as a grade school teacher in the primary to junior high education levels in Missouri, Colorado, Alabama, Georgia and Wisconsin from 1937-1969. She also held the position of principal at St. James Grade School in Denver Colo. in 1963 and at St. Louis Grade School in St. Louis in 1964. 

After receiving her certificate in practical nursing from Kansas City University in 1971, S. Margaret began her ministry as an LP nurse. She served at St. Mary Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.(1971-1974), Cardinal Ritter Institute in St. Louis (1974-1978) and St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City (1978-1980). She then returned to Cardinal Ritter Institute where she served until her retirement in 2000.

In 2006, S. Margaret moved to Nazareth Living Center where she carried out her ministry of prayer and witness.

A Memorial Mass was held Thursday, May 20 at Nazareth Living Center Chapel in St. Louis, MO. S. Margaret's body was cremated and her ashes are interred at Resurrection Cemetery.
