Sister Kathleen Stack is living proof that it’s never too late to discover hidden talents.
At the age of 73, she “tried her hand” at painting and took five years of lessons from a well-known artist. “I discovered that I loved painting and that it is great and relaxing therapy,” she says.
At the age of 86, Sister Kathleen held her first art exhibit at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. Her 26 works were not only on display, but were available for sale, earning more than $400 to benefit Nazareth, which has been her home since 2007.
Sister Kathleen enjoys working with acrylics on canvas or canvas paper, where she lets her imagination and memory express itself.
“When painting, I experience freedom, joy, beauty and peace.”
