Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Blanche Corcoran (S. Joseph Vincent) who passed away on Feb. 21 of ischemic colitis at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, MO. She was 82 years old.

S. Blanche was born in St. Louis to parents George and Evelyn B. (Kuhl) Corcoran. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet on September 15, 1946, and made her final profession on August 15, 1952. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fontbonne College in St. Louis in 1959.

From 1949-1973, S. Blanch taught the first, second and third grades at several schools in St. Louis, Mo., Peoria and Chicago, Ill., and Denver, Colo. She then served as a houseparent at the St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf.

Two years later, S. Blanche returned to teaching at Holy Innocents Grade School in St. Louis. In 1976, she served at the St. Joseph Provincial House in St. Louis as a driver, where she remained for the next 13 years.

After a year in transition in 1989, S. Blanche went on to serve as the pastoral minister for the St. Joseph Parish in Clayton, Mo. In 1995, she moved back to the St. Joseph Provincial House and spent her time caring for her family. S. Blanche retired to Nazareth Living Center in 2005.

Funeral arrangements are planned for Friday, February 24 at the Nazareth Living Center Chapel, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129. The wake will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
