Associates Make Initial Commitments

Our newest associates from St. Teresa's Academy: Barbara Cusick, Jennifer Petree, Jenny Greene and Michael Sanem

Four new associates from St. Teresa's Academy joined our associate program with their initial commitments.

Associates are women and men, married and single, who are called by God to commit to extending the mission and sharing the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet without becoming vowed members.

Today, the more than  300 associates continue to bring the CSJ spirit to their jobs, parishes and families as they share their gifts in works of justice and peace, care for the poor and for the earth.

Why become a CSJ Associate? Hear from our newest associates in their commitment statements:

Barbara Cusick felt the Holy Spirit "nudged" her to form a deeper connection with the St. Teresa's community and the CSJ charism and she "jumped at the chance" to go deeper. "I am committed to serving the dear neighbor alongside all of you. I am committed to deepen my relationship with God through discussion and experience. I am committed to empty myself so that I may be prepared to fill myself with God’s love and share it with everyone I encounter."

Jennifer Ann Petree is "committed to become more mindful of the humbleness with which the sisters live,  and to have, as they say, 'A humility of heart and a charity toward the neighbor.'"

"I believe that I have found and am committing to a community of people, both past and present, that can help me live out my call to help the dear neighbor in a way that is pleasing to God," says Jennifer Greene.

Michael Sanem seeks to deepen his life of prayer, service, silence and meditation.  "I commit to honoring the incarnation of God all around me-in family, friends, students, colleagues, and in the glory of creation.
