Frank and Mary Kay Ayers with Sister Ruth Stuckel celebrate Mary Kay's ongoing commitment in Fountain Hills, Ariz.

Mary Kay Ayres celebrated her ongoing commitment as an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet on September 12, joined by of Sister Ruth Stuckel and Associate Nicole Nicoll.

Associates are women and men, married and single, who are called by God to commit to extending the mission and sharing the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet without becoming vowed members.

There are more than 300 CSJ Associates who bring the CSJ spirit to their jobs, parishes and families as they share their gifts in works of justice and peace, care for the poor and for the earth.

Mary Kay says she is called to be an associate to develop a deeper love of God and her family and friends; to grow in charity, humility; and to emulate the gentleness and joy of the Holy Family.

"I commit, under guidance of St. Joseph, to bring unity and reconciliation, first to my family and then to those I come in contact with everyday," Mary Kay says. "And I wish to live out the commitment by being available for the next step where God calls me.”
