Karam Salem, originally from Baghdad, is a student at Holy Cross College in Notre Dame and will graduate in May. He has been sponsored by The Iraqi Student Project (ISP) for all four years of college. The ISP’s purpose is to relocate Iraqi students to America colleges as sectarian violence has kept thousands from attending local universities. Click here to learn more about ISP.
The concert is a fundraiser for Karam who has been admitted to the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston to attend graduate school. While he has received scholarships, they will not cover the cost. Karam’s original compositions are dedicated to building bridges between cultures—especially estranged and stereotyped cultures.
