Sister Rose was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She was received into the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1958 as Sister Raymond Louise. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fontbonne College in 1962 and a master’s in social studies from Indiana University Bloomington in 1972. 

Sister Rose served 33 years in education. She began in 1962 as a teacher at St. Patrick Grade School in Rolla, Missouri (1962-65,) and Sacred Heart Grade School in Indianapolis, Indiana (1965-68). Sister Rose served as principal and teacher at St. Joseph Grade School in West De Pere, Wisconsin (1968-71), and St. Luke the Evangelist Grade School in St. Louis (1971-73). For the next four years, she was principal at St. Joseph Indian School in Keshena, Wisconsin. In 1977, she came back to St. Louis and taught junior high at Most Holy Rosary Grade School for two years. 

From 1979 to 1984, Sister Rose Marie served as superior at Nazareth Living Center. She returned to education and was the registrar at St. Joseph’s Academy for a year. In 1985, she began her six-year ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florissant, Missouri, where she was a teacher and campus minister (1985-89) and then assistant principal (1989-92). The following two years, Sister Rose taught at Holy Family Grade School. She then served for one year as a consultant in the Office of Learning Styles at the Archdiocese of St. Louis. 

For the next seven years, Sister Rose Marie served as a grant writer, family caregiver and tutor. In 2002, she served on the Sister Care Staff at Nazareth Living Center. While there, she purchased supplies for the sister residents, maintained the cars driven by the sisters and provided postal services. Sister Rose Marie retired in 2015. She now volunteers at Nazareth visiting the sisters and leading a prayer group and book club.
