CSJ Care provides non-medical services to older persons who may need help to live independently in their own homes in the Kansas City area. 

All caregivers are women religious, representing several different communities

Founded in 1997 in St. Louis, Missouri, its mission reflects the spirit of women religious who are committed to providing loving attention and consistent service to those in their care. 

CSJ Care functions from the belief that every person is worthy of reverence throughout life allowing each individual to maintain responsibility for personal well-being; assists individuals in the performance of the ordinary tasks of everyday life as needed; and affirms the dignity of each client through loving personal interactions. 



Services are usually available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Payment for services is based on an hourly rate with a three-hour minimum. Financial aid may be available for those who qualifyAmong the services provided by the sisters caregivers include:

  • accompany client on errands
  • assist with bathing
  • assist with dressing
  • change bed linens
  • clean bathroom
  • discuss current events
  • do laundry
  • help with shopping
  • help with personal care
  • monitor food freshness
  • offer respite care
  • perform light housekeeping
  • plan and prepare meals
  • play games and cards
  • provide conversation
  • pray
  • read
  • remind client of medication
  • take out the garbage
  • wash dishes
